NICKY JAM, #1 EN BILLBOARD, FIRMA A NIVEL MUNDIAL CON SESAC LATINA COMO COMPOSITOR

Los Angeles (24 de marzo, 2015) – Con una composición suya y de su co-intérprete titulada “El Perdón”, el cantautor Nicky Jam conquista simultáneamente una triple corona en los listados de popularidad de Billboard: Hot Latin Songs, que incluye todos los géneros de música latina tocándose ahora mismo en Estados Unidos y Puerto Rico; y además Latin Airplay y Latin Rhythm Airplay.  

Paralelamente, en su faceta de compositor ha firmado con SESAC Latina para que lo represente a nivel mundial en lo relativo a sus derechos de autor por ejecución pública, integrándose así al elenco creativo de mayor potencial actual de la industria.  

Co-escrita por Nicky Jam y su artista invitado, Enrique Iglesias, junto a Juan Medina Vélez y Christian Camilo Mena, “El Perdón” alcanza el #1 en los charts de Billboard a seis semanas de haber entrado al sistema de monitoreo radial Nielsen Music.  

Dándole su bienvenida a la organización, la Vicepresidenta de SESAC Latina, J. J. Cheng, dijo que “Nicky Jam llega a nuestra familia de compositores en un gran momento de su carrera. Esto se refleja en su presencia simultánea en varias listas de Billboard”.  

Sumando tres semanas de avasallador éxito, los #1 del multifacético artista ahora afiliado con SESAC Latina aparecen publicados en la edición de dicha revista que circula entre el 28 de marzo y el 3 de abril, 2015.  

Protagonizado por sus dos intérpretes, el video oficial de esta canción —grabado en locaciones de Medellín, Colombia, y la ciudad de Miami, Florida, — se ha estrenado este 23 de marzo. 

Desde su lanzamiento en enero de este año, “El Perdón” ha establecido la abismante suma de más de 115 millones de vistas en YouTube (combinación de versiones de audio y reproducción de su lírica). 

El ingreso de Nicky Jam a SESAC Latina coincide con su obtención del Premio YouTube 2015, donde se une a la lista de los 50 artistas cuyos videos han tenido mayor éxito global por su cantidad de vistas, intercambios, ‘likes’, comentartios y suscripciones.  

Nicky Jam hace historia, asimismo, por ser el único artista latino que gana el YouTube Music Award 2015,  compartiendo este honor y logro con figuras de dimensión mundial como Beyonce, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Ella Henderson, Katy Perry, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, One Direction, Pharrell Williams, Rihanna, Sam Smith, y Taylor Swift, entre otros.

Recientemente el destacado cantautor se ha presentado en concierto en Puerto Rico junto a Tito El Bambino y, además, en el Seminole Hard Rock Live de la ciudad de Hollywood, Florida. Además, Nicky Jam participa en el nuevo ‘remix’ de “Ay Vamos”, junto a J Balvin, su autor e intérprete, y French Montana.

A winner at the 2015 YouTube Music Awards and a pioneer of the urban-Latino music movement, he tops three singles charts with his smash hit “El Perdón”


LOS ANGELES (March 24, 2015) – With his song “El Perdón” (Forgiveness), the singer-songwriter Nicky Jam takes a triple crown on the Billboard singles charts. He holds the No. 1 spot on the competitive Hot Latin Songs, which includes hits from all Latin genres receiving sales and airplay in the United States and Puerto Rico. He also leads the Latin Airplay and Latin Rhythm Airplay rankings. 

Meanwhile, as a composer, he has signed a worldwide deal with SESAC Latina for his performing rights, joining the creative roster with the greatest potential in the music industry.

Co-written by Nicky Jam and his featured artist, Enrique Iglesias, together with Juan Medina Vélez and Christian Camilo Mena, “El Perdón” reached No. 1 on Billboard in its sixth week on the airplay charts, which are generated by Nielsen BDS’ radio monitoring system.

Welcoming Nicky Jam to the society is SESAC Latina Vice President J. J. Cheng, who notes, “Nicky Jam comes to our family of songwriters at a great time in his career. This is reflected in his simultaneous presence on multiple Billboard charts.”


In its third week at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs, “El Perdón” accomplishes its triple feat on Billboard magazine’s charts for the issue date of March 28-April 3, 2015.

Starring its two performers, the official music video of “El Perdón” was filmed on location in Medellín, Colombia, and Miami. It premiered on March 23.

Since its debut in January 2015, “El Perdón” has garnered over 115 million views on YouTube (including versions of audio and lyric videos).

Nicky Jam joins SESAC Latina just as he is honored with a 2015 YouTube Music Award, given to a select group of 50 artists whose videos have caused the most worldwide impact with views, shares, likes, comments and channel subscriptions.


Making history, Nicky Jam is the only Latino to receive a YouTube Music Award this year. He joins other iconic, globally known award winners including Beyonce, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Ella Henderson, Katy Perry, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, One Direction, Pharrell Williams, Rihanna, Sam Smith, and Taylor Swift.

Recently, Nicky Jam performed in Puerto Rico on a bill with Tito El Bambino. He also performed at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida. Turning to recordings, he is featured alongside French Montana on the new remix of “Ay Vamos” (There We Go), which is written and performed by J Balvin.
