SESAC Latina’s hits top the 2014 Billboard year-end charts

SESAC Latina’s artistic roster has once again created some of the most engaging music of the year. Their songs’ popularity and staying power have made them a fixture of the 2014 Billboard year-end charts.

First off, “Hermosa Experiencia” (Lovely Experience), performed by Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizárraga and written by Cisneros, is the No.1 Regional Mexican song of the year.

Meanwhile, Calibre 50 is the year’s overall No.1 Regional Mexican Airplay Artist, thanks to the total radio audience garnered by several of its hits.

Four of the year’s 10 biggest Regional Mexican hits are associated with SESAC Latina’s talent. Three of them were written by Luciano Luna, who in 2014 was named Songwriter of the Year by SESAC Latina, Monitor Latino and the popular music channel Bandamax.

The four Top Tens are the aforementioned “Hermosa Experiencia,” and three songs written by Luna: “Tenerte” (To Have You), performed by Luis Coronel; “Te Hubieras Ido Antes” (You Should Have Left Sooner), performed by Julión Álvarez y su Norteño Banda; and “Tus Latidos” (Your Heartbeats), performed by Calibre 50 and co-written by Luna and Edén Muñoz.

Two other songs written by Luciano Luna appear on the Regional Mexican year-end chart “Vas A Llorar Por Mí” (You’re Going to Cry For Me), performed by Banda El Recodo and co-written by Miguel Ángel Romero; and “Me Interesas” (You Interest Me), performed by Noel Torres.

Songs by SESAC Latina composers also defined the year in other genres. “Odio” (Hate), performed by Romeo Santos and Drake; and “6 AM,” performed by J Balvin and Farruko, dominated the year-end charts in the categories of Latin Pop Songs, Tropical Songs and Streaming. Meanwhile, the 2011 smash “Promise,” performed by Romeo Santos and Usher, furthered its long-running impact by once again making the Year-End Digital Songs chart.

“Hermosa Experiencia” and the other aforementioned Regional Mexican hits also appear on Billboard’s comprehensive year-end charts for Hot Latin Songs, Latin Digital Songs and Latin Streaming Songs.
